Janek Janikowski

A London-born artist, Janek graduated with a degree in illustration from the Chelsea School of Art. After a career in advertising as an agency creative, Janek has pursued his passion as a portrait artist. His current work focuses on the idea of mixing digital and analogue, - a marriage of pointillism and collage. Portraits of cultural icons are created from thousands of individually hole-punched pieces of paper (chads). He works from a colour palette of hand-stained paper to produce the exact gradation of tones needed to render a perfect image that is at once organic yet uniquely precise.
